With French property your protection by is totally unique. With "off-plan" new build, you have 8 full weeks from reserving a property to cancel out. ** On the internet and in the media you will find many adverts re. "Leaseback", (called in France "Residence de Tourisme"). This is basically extended Timeshare. It is an excellent investment if you are a Resident French income tax payer, (who can write off the property against their income tax), but is extremely bad if you are not. As a group we actually build "Residence de Tourime", but never market to overseas investors. Many notaires refuse to sign/approve this type of investment for overseas clients.
